The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox is available in four trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.
Family-friendly updates
The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox got revised exterior styling this year. Most notably, it has a refreshed front fascia that includes standard LED headlamps on all trim levels. There are also more safety features available on more models.
Most notably, Chevrolet added the sporty new RS trim level to the Equinox. This model features unique exterior design elements including Dark Android-painted wheels, Gloss Black side rails and window surround, and a unique lower front fascia. Inside, the RS model comes with Jet Black seating, red accent stitching, and a black headliner.
Powertrain
All Equinox models are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. You can choose between standard front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive.
When equipped with front-wheel drive, the Equinox returns an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.[1]
You can even do some light towing with the Equinox. When properly equipped, it has a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds.
Exterior design
The Equinox has a bold, modern design that looks good wherever it goes. This year, there are four new exterior color options including Blue Glow Metallic, Seaglass Blue Metallic, Iron Gray Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat.
Interior features
With a versatile interior, your family will love riding in the Equinox. Behind the rear seat, it offers 29.9 cubic feet for cargo. Fold down the 60/40-split folding rear seats and the cargo area grows to 63.9 cubic feet. An available hands-free power liftgate makes it even easier to load your cargo. When you want to hide items out of sight, there is hidden storage underneath the rear cargo floor.
The Equinox makes it easy to stay comfortable with a variety of available convenience features including power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated rear seats.
Technology
Connectivity comes standard on the Equinox. The base LS trim starts with a 7-inch touch screen and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capabilities. The LT trim adds satellite radio. With the available Infotainment package, the Equinox gets an upgraded 8-inch touch screen with built-in navigation along with a 120-volt power outlet.
The range-topping Premier model gives you the convenience of a wireless charging pad. It is also available with a premium Bose® audio system.
Safety
Every Equinox model comes well-equipped with an advanced suite of standard safety features. The Chevy Safety Assist package includes the following:
